More news about Celine's Boulevard
03/02/2007 | source: www.lcn.com |
In spite of contrary opinion of Charlemagne's
Toponym Commission (that last November refused the proposal of opening
a Boulevard dedicated to Celine because usually the person to whom
we're about to dedicate a street should be dead at least since one
year) has a Céline Dion Boulevard.
But, for the moment, the name won't appear in the city guides.
The Mayor of Charlemagne, Normand Grenier, said: "We didn't
want to wait for Celine to die, she's a world superstar who brings
the Quebec all over around the Planet. We appreciate her very much
and we wanted to show her that in a very tangible way. In the pas,
there was already a monument dedicated to her, "La Sphère Céline
Dion" which right now, of course, is on the Céline Dion Boulevard.
Every year, many fans come to see Celine's little country and among
our projects, there is also the one of opening a museum dedicated
to her... Maybe in her old house, that right now is a shop!"
